Jack Boston Oswald is an English figurative artist born in London who now lives and works in Margate Kent. He  exhibits frequently in commercial art fairs in London whilst also working as a painter for the likes of BBC, music videos, fashion brands and major advertising campaigns.

He holds a BA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins and also a BA in Illustration from London College of Fashion. Currently he is studying Pattern Cutting for Tailoring at The Robing Room in Folkestone’s creative quarter whilst continuing with his own work and practice of oil paintings on glass and canvas from his studio in Margate.

“My work incorporates an intensity of structure within in the illustration and saturation of colour choice. My aim is to find the space between the aesthetic and the emotional, focusing on self reflection and discovery. Though some of my paintings can take form relatively quickly, most undergo a longer journey to emerge in the process. I like my work to capture the beauty of the imagination even in the everyday”.

Jack’s paintings are a modern illustration of traditional composition looking at the relationship and balance between light and dark, of draftsmanship and colour.
